Registered Nurse (RN)

This 12-bed unit operates at the Intermediate Care level, utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles. It specializes in managing a diverse range of patient populations, including:

• Patients transitioning from the Neuro ICU
• Neuro trauma patients
• Individuals with subarachnoid, intraventricular, or intracerebral hemorrhage
• ENT patients with cancer undergoing tumor resection and flap reconstruction
• Post-operative spine patients
• Various neurological conditions

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work a 3x12-hour day shift schedule, from 07:00 to 19:00, across a 13-week contract. Responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality nursing care to patients with complex neurological needs
• Monitoring patient conditions and responding to changes in their status
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educating patients and their families regarding health conditions and discharge planning
• Adhering to infection control and safety protocols

The RN is required to work every other weekend and holiday, including two of the three winter holidays. Other requirements include:

• A nursing license valid in the state of practice
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Compliance with the facility's float policy

The patient-to-nurse ratio is set at 1:3, ensuring individual attention and care quality for each patient.
