Per Diem Traffic Associate (Sampler) – Flexible Side Gig Opportunity (Long-Term Role) Locations: Houston, TX | Jacksonville, FL | Savannah, GA | Miami, FL | Chicago, IL | Seattle, WA Reports To: Traffic Coordinator / FDA Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Per Diem / As-Needed (Long-Term, Ongoing Opportunity) Target Radius: Candidates must reside within 30 miles of assigned location Position Overview This is a highly flexible, per diem long-term opportunity designed for individuals looking to earn supplemental income on an ongoing basis. While this is not a traditional full-time or contract position, it is a stable, recurring opportunity with long-term potential based on performance and availability . The Per Diem Traffic Associate (Sampler) supports food safety and quality programs by collecting product samples from a variety of client locations, including manufacturers, processors, warehouses, and distribution facilities. This role is ideal for a flexible side gig —perfect for individuals who want autonomy, variety, and the ability to choose assignments based on their availability. There are no guaranteed hours, but consistent opportunities may be available. Why This Role? Highly flexible, self-scheduled assignment opportunities Long-term, ongoing work (not a short-term contract role) Opportunity to earn meaningful supplemental income Variety in daily assignments and locations Independent, field-based work with clear procedures and support Key Responsibilities Collect food product samples from client facilities, public warehouse, cold storage facilities following established SOPs and protocols Accurately complete all sample documentation, including IDs, photos, collection details and chain of custody documentation Ensure proper handling, labeling, and integrity of collected samples Complete required logs, transmittals, and reporting forms Safely transport sampling materials and equipment Maintain assigned vehicle cleanliness and organization Track petty cash and receipts when applicable Communicate delays or field issues to the Traffic Manager/Supervisor Maintain a professional appearance and customer-facing demeanor Perform additional duties as assigned Position Objectives Execute accurate and timely sample collection assignments Maintain compliance with sampling SOP and internal QA standards Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all collectionsOperate independently while staying aligned with operational needs Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical fieldwork (bend, kneel, crouch, etc.) Comfortable working independently and managing your own time Strong attention to detail and reliability Good communication and organizational skillsAbility to follow detailed SOPs and procedures Professional and client-ready demeanor Key Competencies Dependability Accuracy and attention to detail Time management and flexibilityProfessionalism Communication skills Training Initial hands‑on training conducted in Melville, NY (mock sampling included) Minimum of 2 training sessions per year required Monthly safety and compliance training as scheduled Compensation (Per Diem Structure) This role offers competitive per diem earning potential based on assignments completed: Sample Collection: $125 per per day) Training Day Rate: $500 per full day Partial Training Day: $250 per partial day Safety / Meeting Training: $35 per hour Travel Day Stipend: $75 per day (for qualifying travel-related assignments; excludes airfare/hotel, which are company-paid when applicable) Mileage Reimbursement: IRS standard mileage rate when using a personal vehicle for approved business travel Work Style & Flexibility Choose assignments based on your availability No minimum hour requirement Work varies by day, location, and assignment type Opportunities are ongoing and long-term (not seasonal or short-term contract work) Assignments may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on client needs Vehicle & Travel When personal vehicles are used for company business: Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate Personal insurance is primary; company coverage is secondary Candidates should confirm personal auto insurance coverage for business use Ideal for Individuals seeking supplemental or part-time income Professionals looking for flexible, independent field work People comfortable working on the road in a structured, SOP-driven environment By applying, you acknowledge that Certified Group will process your personal information for recruitment and hiring purposes in accordance with our Applicant Privacy Policy.
