Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure.ResponsibilitiesCommunicates effectively. Effectively role models professional behavior.Ensures continuity of professional care.Responds to patient and family requests promptly.Completely and independently performs all ultrasound procedures.Assumes responsibility for patient care, safety and comfort.Obtains ultrasound images, while adhering to departmental standards.Properly identifies patients before procedures.Effectively maintains supplies and facilitates ordering.Accurately collects improvement performance data as directedActively participates in the development and implementation of process improvements.Obtains all radiographic images while adhering to departmental standards.Ensures that all procedures are properly ordered, verified, and acknowledged.Scans appropriate associated documents into PACS for radiologist interpretation.Consistently provides reproducible quality images.Informs PACS support or corrects errors.Performs other duties as assigned or requested.RequirementsGraduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program. Preferred graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences program with a B.S.; Completion of advanced modality program(s).Clinical experience acquired through the completion of radiologic sciences program. Preferred two years experience as a ultrasonographer an acute care hospital setting AHA.
