Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

McIver Clinic has been a trusted leader in urological care in Jacksonville since 1921. With multiple locations throughout the greater Jacksonville area and more than 27 providers, we provide compassionate, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of urology, from minimally invasive procedures to complex surgery and oncology.

We are seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our full-time outpatient clinical team. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

• Downtown Jacksonville / Kasraeian Urology
• Orange Park / Fleming Island
• Jacksonville Beach / Perimeter

Essential Job Functions:

• Triage patient calls and provide appropriate clinical guidance and follow-up within the scope of practice.
• Document patient interactions and clinical information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the clinical team to provide quality patient care.
• Room patients, obtain vital signs, document the reason for the visit, and prepare patients for examination.
• Assist physicians with routine clinical care and in-office procedures.
• Prepare and maintain surgical trays and supplies while following appropriate infection prevention and sterile technique procedures.
• Perform clinical duties within the scope of Florida LPN licensure, including blood draws, Foley and suprapubic catheter insertion and removal, and removal of drains, staples, and sutures.
• Review and update patient medical, surgical, family, and social histories, medications, and other clinical information.
• Process prescription refill requests and communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, referring providers, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Provide patients with information regarding treatments, procedures, medications, and follow-up care as directed by the physician or clinical team.
• Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately stocked examination rooms.
• Schedule and coordinate appropriate patient follow-up appointments.
• Review patient charts for accuracy and completion at the end of each clinic day.
• Follow HIPAA requirements, infection prevention and control standards, and standard precautions.
• Maintain required professional licensure and certifications.
• Provide cross-coverage for nursing staff and assist with other clinical duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current, active Florida LPN license in good standing.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Previous clinical experience in a physician office, outpatient clinic, or hospital setting.
• Urology experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills.
• Ability to work independently while working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Experience:

• One year of LPN experience preferred.
