After School Assistant York Preparatory Academy - (SC) Patriots Promise - Rock Hill, South Carolina Job Details Job ID: 5410344 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Oct 16, 2025 4:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Title: After School Assistant/Patriot’s Promise Position Type: Non-Exempt Agreement Terms: 12 month agreement (August – July) Part Time Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm Friday 1:00 pm-6:00 pm Salary: $15.00/hour Reports to: After School Coordinator General Summary Under the direction of the After School Coordinator, the Assistant is responsible for assisting with homework, activities, games and crafts for participants in the Patriot’s Promise After School Program. The Assistant must provide a leadership role and be a positive role model to participants, planning, organizing and leading daily activities. Responsibilities Provide participants with the appropriate leadership during the program. Develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine. Tutor students and provide homework assistance. Assist with participant check-in/out. Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants. Supervise children on playground and classrooms. Prepare activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children. Communicate with the parents through daily drop-off and pick-up. Maintain a safe environment for participants and a positive attitude toward co-workers, parents, and the school. Report any problems which arise with participants, other employees, or the school to the After School Coordinator. Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program. Keep the room neat and orderly. Follow and enforce all safety policies. Proactive response to any issues and concerns regarding the after school program. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Supervise and direct children, be sensitive and mature, provide leadership and stability to the program and staff, serve as a good role model, establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents and students, effectively use positive guidance techniques to correct student behavior, maintain confidentiality, communicate well, and be dependable. Education High School Diploma or equivalent Working Condition Office environment with exposure to outside conditions. Office activities could require movement/lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
