Responsibilities Position: Packaging Machine Operator (PMO) Location: Waterford Plant, 821 Route 97 South, Waterford, Pennsylvania 16441 We have 4 positions available and two shift options: Afternoon Shift: 2:45 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday (Base schedule). One position. Must be available for overtime on Saturday and Sunday. Night Shift: 10:45 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Sunday‑Friday (Base schedule). Three positions. Must be available for overtime on Friday and Saturday. A $2.00 per hour shift differential applies for afternoon and night shifts. The PMO will run, change over, and maintain the efficiency and quality of 3–5 packaging machines. Responsibilities include setting up and operating packaging equipment, following precise recipes and work procedures, monitoring variables, performing product quality tests and data collection, and communicating changes to team members. The role requires multitasking, prioritizing throughout the shift, using hand tools, and responding to direction from quality assurance and management. Qualifications What you bring to the table: Leadership: Lead the line by exemplifying Shearer's core values of Respect, Teamwork, and Giving Back; follow all policies and procedures. Troubleshooting: Ability to work through problems, identify root causes, and resolve issues with mechanical and automation equipment. Preferred: 2–5 years machine operator or maintenance apprentice experience. Computer skills: Basic computer proficiency required for production verifications performed routinely throughout the shift. Time management: Effectively manage own time, complete changeovers within allotted time, and schedule breaks around activity lulls. Flexibility: Willingness to participate in training, pre‑shift meetings, work weekends and overtime when needed. Physical demands: Move, twist, or lift up to 60 lbs and team‑lift up to 75 lbs; maintain standing for 12 + hours; meet vision requirements. Candidate must have a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic. Physical demands are significant and include exposure to allergens, chemicals, extreme equipment, and temperatures.
