Project Controls Manager

Overview At Cumming Group, you will work on some of the world's most exciting projects in a dynamic environment where your success is measured by the impact you make. In this role, you will be a member of our cost management and estimating team in Raleigh, NC, delivering solutions such as conceptual estimating, budget development, cost planning, feasibility studies, and more. Responsibilities Perform Project Controls Services service offering including capital planning, portfolio and project governance, front‑end planning, project funding, project set‑up, construction technology, procure‑to‑pay, project, cost & commercial managing, schedule control, risk management, and project close‑out. Participate in the delivery of Portfolios, Programs & Projects. Support the development of client’s capital plan and updates by providing cash‑flow and accrual information. Facilitate the funding process by consolidating information from various sources into a holistic funding request document. Work closely with clients to effectively set up project systems and coding and communicate the requirements to those providing inputs. Enable effective governance by providing relevant fact‑based information, including reports and analytics. Assist in the smooth operation of construction technology platforms, ensuring the flow of information to enable efficient execution and control. Participate in the development of project sourcing strategies and help set up the procure‑to‑pay structure. Forecast and predictively influence project outcomes, reviewing schedule development and progression to proactively influence results. Identify, quantify, monitor, and partner to develop risk mitigation plans. Ensure effective closure of projects, including the completion of all financial related activities. Perform other duties as assigned and attend work during normal business hours. Qualifications Growing technical competency in project controls service offerings such as project set‑up, construction technology, procure‑to‑pay, project, cost & commercial managing, schedule control, risk management, and project close‑out. Demonstrate technical knowledge of the construction industry and use of cost‑estimating methods. Ability to adapt to all situations, work varied hours, and work independently while learning new skills. Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of commonly used construction concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to read and interpret various documents such as Arch, Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotech, Site Logistics, and Schedules. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and clients. Experience with scheduling software, preferably P6. Demonstrated ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Commitment to continuous personal development and readiness for career progression. Preferred Education and Experience BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field. 4+ years of experience post undergraduate degree working in a related field. Salary Range Full‑time salary range: $97,400.00 – $129,866.68 per year. This range reflects base salary only and may vary based on position, geography, client and industry experience, and level.
