Nurse Extern Student Nurse

Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic Nurse Extern (Student Nurse) to join Overland Park Regional Medical Center and gain hands‑on experience in a supportive learning environment. The role offers flexibility, paid shadow experience, and early access to New Graduate opportunities. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care performing delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Assist nursing staff under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and maintain a clean, well‑organized, and safe patient care environment. Participate in orientation and clinical skills check‑off to develop nursing skills and competencies. Earn paid shadow experience for every 24 hours worked. Collaborate with the care team and contribute to patient care plans. Qualifications Actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program and in good standing. Completed Nursing Fundamentals (or currently enrolled in the course) before start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start. High‑school graduate or GED. Preferred: RN license. Flexibility to work a semi‑fixed schedule and willingness to shadow on additional units.
