Operating Room Nurse (FT)

Under the supervision of the Department Manager and Chief Nursing Officer provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. RESPONSIBILITIES Assesses, plans, coordinates, and participates in patient care in accordance with the needs of the patient, the plan of care, standards of care, and organizational policies. Adheres to written policies of the Hospital, regulatory guidelines, and infection control practices. Assists in ensuring and maintaining an environment conducive to patient and personnel safety. Assists in the development and implementation of work techniques and methods appropriate to the Hospital’s program. Ensure accurate, concise, and timely documentation in patient’s medical record. Performs duties and tasks specific to the work area assigned and within scope of practice. Operates and maintains equipment, instruments, and supplies consistent with safe nursing practice. Seeks educational opportunities to increase clinical competence and enhance personal growth. Responsible for completing mandatory classes relative to job responsibilities at the Hospital as well as for meeting continuing education requirements for licensure. Participates in the orientation of new employees. Communicates courteously and effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers, and the public. Promptly reports problems to management. Prepares, administers, and documents medication per policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Current RN licensure in this state. Employees that provide direct patient care will be expected to complete CPR training or furnish proof of current training per American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards upon hire. Failure to maintain a current valid CPR credential and/or submit proof of CPR will result in an employee being removed from the schedule until proof of current CPR or training has been submitted. Specific departmental staff will be expected to complete ACLS training within three (3) months of hire and PALS training within six (6) months of hire. ECG course completion or successful ECG test completion if taken course previously within three (3) months of hire for nurses who are responsible to read ECG tracings as part of their job role. Preferred previous work experience in position employed for no less than one (1) year. Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position. Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, light lifting, pulling, or pushing of carts and equipment, etc. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist and be able to kneel. #J-18808-Ljbffr
