Description

A Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs the hands-on aspect of preventative maintenance and repairs of heavy duty vehicles (26,000+ lbs) as well as coordinates the teams of mechanics and ensures the timely completion of repairs. Persons in these roles will possess a working knowledge of the types of heavy equipment used within their industry and are prepared to make repairs to a variety of heavy duty vocational trucks but not limited to other CMV's.

Position Requirements

General Responsibilities:

• Possess working knowledge of leadership management skills
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation in accordance with government regulations and local policies
• Creating schedules for preventative maintenance
• Ability to order/receive parts
• Maintain an orderly parts room/area
• Monitor and Maintain the following:
  • Brakes
  • Tires
  • Lube Services
  • Clutches
  • Hydraulics
  • Minor welding and/or fabrication
  • Electrical Diagnostics
  • Annual periodical inspections
  • A/C Systems
  • Coolant Systems

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and knee
• Must be able to push, pull, and reach
• Must be able to work in high noise areas
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and small parts
