Work Schedule : Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. As a Senior Software Engineer at Ally, you will design, build, test, and support software that powers critical customer and business experiences. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who balances near-term delivery with quality, security, reliability, and long-term technical health. We value the ability to solve problems, learn new technologies, and use AI development tools effectively. Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production software.

• Own features and technical solutions from design through implementation and support.
• Write and review code using traditional, automated, and AI-assisted development approaches.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, SRE, Cybersecurity, Risk, and partner engineering teams.
• Improve software quality, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.

You will work across modern and established platforms, use advanced AI-assisted development tools, and help shape how our technology evolves. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent Professional experience building and supporting production software in a complex environment.

• Strong engineering fundamentals with depth in at least one programming language or technology domain.
• Ability to independently drive solutions, raise risks, and seek alignment when needed.
• A production mindset that considers security, reliability, observability, maintainability, and customer impact.

Python, Java, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, React Native, Angular, Spring, REST APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, Git, AWS or Azure, and connecting to backend SQL databases. Qualified candidates may be considered for multiple software engineering opportunities supporting Bank and Corporate Finance Tech or Dealer Financial Services Tech.
