Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, serving a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric
• Participate in patient and family teaching to support informed care decisions and mutual goal setting
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and interdisciplinary patient care team members to maintain professional nursing standards in the clinical setting
• Protect patient rights and privacy in accordance with ethical and professional nursing standards
• Adhere to standards set by applicable regulatory agencies and professional nursing codes of practice
• Maintain individual competence in nursing practice and accept accountability for individual actions and clinical judgments

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification (ENPC accepted in place of PALS)
• Current TNCC certification
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with a diverse patient population including newborn through geriatric age groups
• Familiarity with Paragon electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 4:1 in a high-acuity emergency environment
