Job Description
Job Description:\n\nNOW HIRING: EXPERIENCED CAREGIVER – BEDBOUND CLIENTHoyer Lift Experience Required | $17–$19/Hour | 12-Hour Shifts Helping Hearts USA LLC is looking for an experienced, dependable, compassionate, and energetic caregiver to join our care team and provide one-on-one support for a fully bedbound client. This is a hands-on total-care assignment, not a basic companionship position. We need someone who is confident providing personal care, understands the responsibilities involved in caring for a fully dependent client, has Hoyer lift experience, and takes reliability, professionalism, compassion, and client dignity seriously. CNA certification or a higher healthcare credential is a PLUS, but it is NOT required. Experienced caregivers without a CNA certification are encouraged to apply if they have strong, verifiable hands-on caregiving experience. We are looking for someone who wants to become a consistent and trusted member of the client's care team, not someone looking for occasional or inconsistent shifts.PAY & AVAILABLE SHIFTS Pay: $17.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, credentials, availability, and assignment requirements. Day Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM Night Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Night shift is an AWAKE overnight position. NO SLEEPING is permitted.WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED Applicants must be consistently available to work at least one weekend day each week. Saturday availability is strongly preferred. We are seeking caregivers who can commit to a dependable, ongoing schedule. Your availability will be discussed and confirmed during the hiring process. Once you accept a recurring client schedule, you are expected to maintain that commitment. This position is not appropriate for applicants whose availability changes frequently after accepting an assignment.CLIENT CARE RESPONSIBILITIES This client is fully bedbound and requires extensive hands-on assistance. Caregiver responsibilities include: Providing continuous supervision, safety monitoring, and companionship throughout the scheduled shift. Providing complete assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Performing thorough bed baths and maintaining the client's personal hygiene. Assisting with grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, hair care, and shaving as required. Providing prompt and thorough incontinence and perineal care. Regularly checking the client for wet or soiled briefs and providing care promptly to maintain cleanliness, comfort, dignity, and skin integrity. Repositioning the client according to the established care plan to maintain comfort and reduce prolonged pressure. Safely operating a Hoyer lift and other approved transfer equipment according to the client's individualized care plan. Assisting with approved transfers between the bed, wheelchair, recliner, or other designated areas. Following all established transfer, mobility, and positioning precautions. Observing the client's skin during personal care and immediately reporting redness, irritation, bruising, swelling, skin breakdown, or other changes. Preparing appropriate meals and snacks according to the client's established dietary instructions and preferences. Providing feeding assistance when required. Offering and encouraging fluids regularly according to the client's care plan. Monitoring food and fluid intake and reporting significant concerns or changes. Providing permitted non-medical medication reminders and assistance according to the established care plan and agency policy. Monitoring for changes in the client's behavior, cognition, mobility, appetite, hydration, elimination, sleep patterns, skin condition, or overall well-being. Immediately reporting changes in condition, incidents, or safety concerns to management. Changing sheets and bedding and maintaining a clean, dry, sanitary, and comfortable sleeping environment. Completing client laundry, including clothing, towels, washcloths, sheets, and bedding. Performing routine light housekeeping and maintaining the client's bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and commonly used areas. Keeping the client's care supplies and environment clean, sanitary, and appropriately organized. Properly disposing of trash and used personal-care supplies. Providing meaningful companionship and appropriate engagement while respecting the client's preferences, privacy, dignity, and independence. Completing all required electronic documentation, care tasks, shift notes, and change-of-condition reporting accurately and on time.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS CNA certification is NOT required. CNA certification or a higher-level healthcare credential is strongly preferred and considered a plus. Applicants without a CNA certification may still be considered if they have strong and verifiable professional caregiving experience. We are specifically looking for applicants with experience providing care involving: Fully bedbound or significantly mobility-impaired clients. Total-assistance or high-care-needs clients. Bathing and bed baths. Incontinence and perineal care. Repositioning and bed mobility. Hoyer lift transfers. Gait belts and other approved transfer equipment. Dressing and grooming. Feeding assistance. Meal preparation. Dementia or cognitive impairment when applicable. Maintaining client safety throughout extended shifts.HOYER LIFT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED Previous hands-on Hoyer lift experience is required for this particular assignment. Applicants must be comfortable safely following an established transfer plan and using approved transfer equipment. Simply stating that you are familiar with a Hoyer lift may not be sufficient. Applicants should be prepared to discuss their previous hands-on experience, and competency may be verified before independent placement.VERIFIABLE EMPLOYMENT HISTORY & PROFESSIONAL REFERENCES We are looking for caregivers with a demonstrated history of reliability, professionalism, and job commitment. Applicants must be prepared to provide: A complete five-year employment history when requested. Verifiable previous caregiving employment and experience. Professional references from previous employers, supervisors, facilities, agencies, nurses, or other appropriate professional sources. References who can speak to your reliability, attendance, professionalism, caregiving abilities, communication, and work performance. Accurate information regarding previous caregiving responsibilities and employment. Professional employment references are required. Personal references alone may not satisfy the professional-reference requirement for this assignment.ATTENDANCE & RELIABILITY ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Our clients and their families depend on caregivers arriving on time, prepared, and ready to provide care. Accepting an assignment means making a commitment to the client, their family, your fellow caregivers, and our agency. Caregivers are expected to: Arrive on time for every scheduled shift. Maintain the availability provided during the hiring and placement process. Complete required shift confirmations. Maintain reliable communication with management. Remain for the entire scheduled shift. Never leave a dependent client unattended without authorization. Never leave before the relieving caregiver arrives when continuous coverage is required. Complete an appropriate caregiver-to-caregiver handoff before departing. Immediately contact management if an emergency or unexpected circumstance could affect attendance. Repeated lateness, failure to communicate, excessive call-outs, failure to confirm scheduled shifts, no-call/no-shows, or leaving a dependent client before appropriate relief arrives are serious violations of agency expectations.AWAKE OVERNIGHT POSITION – ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEPING For caregivers working 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, this is an AWAKE overnight assignment. Sleeping while on duty is strictly prohibited. Night-shift caregivers must remain awake, alert, responsive, attentive, and available to the client throughout the entire 12-hour shift. Sleeping, napping, dozing, intentionally lying down to rest, or otherwise becoming unavailable to the client is not permitted. Caregivers may not sleep on the client's couch, recliner, bed, chairs, floor, or other household furniture. Caregivers may not use the client's blankets, pillows, bedding, or other personal belongings for sleeping or personal comfort. The fact that the client may be sleeping does not mean the caregiver's responsibilities stop. Overnight responsibilities may include: Regular client checks according to the care plan. Incontinence and personal care. Repositioning. Hydration. Toileting assistance. Safety monitoring. Laundry. Light housekeeping. Preparing the client's environment for the following day. Completing required documentation. Responding promptly whenever the client requires assistance. Sleeping while responsible for a client is a serious violation of agency policy and may result in immediate removal from the assignment and disciplinary action up to and including termination.PERSONAL CELLPHONE POLICY Personal cellphone use must remain limited while providing client care. Extended personal telephone conversations, social-media use, watching videos, texting, or other personal activities that interfere with client care, supervision, or assigned responsibilities are not acceptable. The caregiver's primary attention must remain focused on the client and assigned responsibilities throughout the shift.REQUIRED WORK UNIFORM Helping Hearts USA LLC caregivers are expected to arrive for every shift clean, properly groomed, and professionally dressed. Required Uniform: Solid Navy Blue Scrubs Caregivers must wear: Clean, solid navy blue scrub tops and scrub pants. Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes appropriate for caregiving duties and transfers. Clean, secure, professional footwear. Crocs, open-back shoes, slippers, sandals, flip-flops, or other inappropriate footwear are not permitted. Hair must be clean, neat, and appropriately secured when necessary for safe hands-on care. Personal hygiene must be maintained throughout every shift. Strong perfumes, colognes, body sprays, and fragrances should be avoided because clients may have allergies, sensitivities, or respiratory conditions. Caregivers must remain appropriately dressed throughout the entire shift. A client's home is a professional workplace while you are on duty.ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Applicants must: Have verifiable hands-on caregiving experience. Have previous hands-on Hoyer lift experience. Provide verifiable professional employment references. Demonstrate a history of reliability and job commitment. Have a valid driver's license. Have reliable transportation to and from assigned client locations. Provide proof of current automobile insurance when required. Successfully complete required criminal background screening. Meet applicable abuse-registry and sex-offender-registry screening requirements. Complete required drug screening when requested and remain eligible for random drug screening according to agency policy. Possess or obtain current CPR and First Aid certification as required. Provide required identification and employment documentation. Provide a high school diploma or GED as required. Provide a complete five-year employment history when requested. Successfully complete agency onboarding and orientation. Complete all required agency training. Complete client-specific training and competency verification when required before independent placement. Be able to accurately use the agency's electronic scheduling, clock-in/clock-out, documentation, and communication systems. Maintain client confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries at all times. Maintain reliable communication with management. Be consistently available for at least one weekend day each week, with Saturday strongly preferred.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We want caregivers who are: Reliable. Trustworthy. Compassionate. We are looking for caregivers who take pride in their work, understand the responsibility of caring for a vulnerable individual, communicate effectively, follow the established care plan, and provide the same level of dignity and compassionate care they would want for someone they love.POSITION AT A GLANCE Position: Experienced Bedbound Caregiver Pay: $17.00–$19.00 per hour Day Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM Night Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Overnight Requirement: Awake overnight – NO sleeping Weekend Availability: REQUIRED – Must consistently work at least one weekend day each week Saturday Availability: Strongly preferred CNA or Higher Credential: Preferred and considered a plus – NOT required Caregiving Experience: Verifiable hands-on experience required Hoyer Lift Experience: REQUIRED Professional References: REQUIRED Reliable Transportation: REQUIRED Uniform: Solid navy blue scrubs with closed-toe, closed-heel professional footwear If you are an experienced, dependable caregiver who is ready to commit to a consistent schedule and provide safe, compassionate, hands-on care, we would love to hear from you.
