Safe and Sound Security is California's fastest growing commercial security integrator. We're a commercial security systems and data cabling contractor. We've been serving businesses for 15 years with the most cutting edge security systems and low voltage contracting in the industry. With over 70% growth this last year, we're adding a few core team members to help take on the extra workload.

What We Are Looking For

Safe & Sound Security is actively seeking a dynamic Controller to join our growing team. This pivotal role requires a hands-on professional with expertise in managing accounts receivables, accounts payables, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will excel in invoice and billing processes, and their experience in handling financial vendor relationships, optimizing access to capital, and overseeing audits will be a significant asset (Highly preferred but not required).

Reporting directly to the CEO or Founder, the Controller will play a vital role in shaping the financial health of our organization. Their impact will be felt immediately, contributing to the efficiency of our small team and ensuring the integrity of our financial processes. With the opportunity to oversee this critical function, the Controller will be instrumental in guiding Safe & Sound Security through its current growth phase and will play a key role in expanding the team in the future. This position represents a unique chance for a skilled financial professional to make a lasting impact on our company's success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Financial Operations: Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing actionable insights to senior leadership to guide decision-making and support the company's strategic goals.
• Vendor Management: Maintain and manage relationships with financial vendors, including insurance brokers, tax agencies (e.g., BSIS, CSLB), and auditors, ensuring timely compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Access to Capital: Assist leadership in developing strategies to improve cash flow, gain access to additional capital, and optimize the company's financial resources.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate filing of sales tax returns with CDTFA and other relevant tax compliance requirements.
• Accounting Systems Management: Maintain and optimize the company's accounting system (QuickBooks Online) to ensure accurate and efficient record-keeping.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models that align with the company's growth objectives.
• Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals during financial audits and reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum 5-7+ years of relevant experience
• Great communicator
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to wear multiple hats and enjoy a small team feel
• Technology savvy (cloud based tools like salesforce, quickbooks, slack, g suite)
• Long term goal to grow with a growing company
• In office in Walnut Creek M-F 8-5:00pm
