The HRIS Payroll Reporting and Compliance Analyst owns end-to-end payroll processing while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of HR and payroll data across systems. This role combines hands-on payroll execution with reporting, auditing, and compliance management including tax administration, data governance, and analytics that inform leadership decision-making.
As an HRIS Payroll Reporting and Compliance Analyst, you will:
- Execute end-to-end biweekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees, including review and validation of new hires, terminations, compensation changes, timekeeping, bonuses, and deductions
- Reconcile payroll prior to processing, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues; manage off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, and corrections as needed
- Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of taxes, garnishments, and other withholdings; manage payroll tax processing through a third-party vendor and register for tax accounts in new jurisdictions as needed
- Partner with Finance on payroll funding, general ledger postings, and account reconciliations
- Maintain and validate employee and payroll data within HRIS and payroll systems; support system updates, enhancements, and integrations across HR and payroll processes
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and system issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Develop and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports, analyzing payroll and workforce data to surface trends, variances, and risks for leadership
- Support leadership reporting needs related to compensation, headcount, and workforce planning
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws and tax requirements; monitor regulatory changes and keep payroll processes and systems current
- Perform routine audits of payroll transactions, system controls, and reporting outputs; support internal and external audits with documentation and inquiry response
As an HRIS Payroll Reporting and Compliance Analyst, you have:
- 35+ years in payroll processing, HRIS, reporting, or compliance, including multistate processing and tax requirements
- Experience with Dayforce and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated commitment to data integrity and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a cyclical processing environment
- Effective written and verbal communication with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Exercised sound judgment and confidentiality in handling sensitive data
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, Finance, Business, or a related field
Preferred:
- A Payroll Certification (FPC or CPP)
Work Details
- Work Location: Remote during the contract; converts to Hybrid (2 days/week in office) upon transition to Direct Hire. Qualified candidates should be commutable to city center of Pittsburgh, PA
- Placement Type: Temporary / Temp to Perm
- Estimated Schedule: Full-time
- Expected Assignment Length: 2 months, with potential to convert to Direct Hire based on performance and business need
