Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Avery's House is a mental health treatment provider for adolescents. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and responsible Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Experience working with adolescents is preferred, and any additional experience with mental health and substance abuse is beneficial. This position provides daily support to those living in Avery's House structured recovery housing.JOB SUMMARY:The Licensed Practicing Nurse provides recovery focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment (including medications) as prescribed by the physician. Provides safe, effective, and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.DUTIES:Demonstrates the Avery's House mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients.Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with clientsProvides nursing care and assists in the welcoming, admission, and discharge processCollects data relevant to client's care; develops and implements nursing care plansDemonstrates knowledge of crisis management and interventionTranscribes physician orders accurately and in a timely mannerAdministers medication management policies and proceduresNotifies the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or conditionDocuments the progress of clients toward their recovery plan goalsAttends and participates in company meetingsCoordinates and participates in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shiftDuties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of managementKNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:Ability to review and implement Recovery/Treatment plansAbility to support medical and psycho-social care of members servedAbility to administer oral and injectable medicationsAbility to act as a team member and provide input via reporting observations and concerns and ask appropriate questionsAbility to implement physical crisis and de-escalation techniquesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current LPN licensure in state of operationCurrent CPR/FA certificateMust be at least 18 years of ageValid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance CardOne year of experience in related field, Behavioral health: 1 year (Preferred)Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medicationValid Driver's LicensePHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
