Code & Craft Architecture

Senior Project Architect | Custom Residential & Hospitality

Code & Craft Architecture

Location: Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | Hybrid

Schedule: Full-time

Salary: $100,000–$135,000, based on experience and capability

ABOUT CODE & CRAFT

Code & Craft Architecture works with legacy-minded property owners and boutique developers across the Pacific Northwest to create places worth caring for, cherishing, and handing down.

Our work spans custom homes on challenging sites and highly curated hospitality spaces shaped around the people who use them. We bring design, construction knowledge, and technical rigor together to create work with lasting value.

We’re building a collaborative team of people who take ownership, follow through, and care about the quality of their work. Team members bring different strengths to each project, share knowledge, and work together to move the studio forward.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced architect who brings strong design judgment and technical expertise to custom residential projects. You’ll carry projects from design development through construction, translating ideas into coordinated, buildable documents and well-resolved details.

You’ll manage projects and lead client meetings, working independently while staying closely connected with the Principal Architect and broader team. You’ll coordinate with colleagues, consultants, and builders to keep projects moving and deliver thoughtful work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop design concepts into coordinated, buildable Revit documents.

• Lead technical development and documentation for custom residential projects.

• Manage project schedules, coordination, and communication in collaboration with the Principal Architect and team.

• Lead client meetings and communicate project decisions, status, and next steps.

• Design and resolve custom details, assemblies, and building envelope conditions.

• Coordinate with internal team members and structural, civil, and MEP consultants.

• Review drawings for quality, code alignment, and constructability.

• Research code and permitting requirements and respond to plan review comments.

• Support construction administration, including contractor questions, submittals, and site visits.

• Share knowledge and contribute to studio standards, documentation, and project workflows.

DESIGN, TECHNICAL WORK, & NEW TOOLS

Design and technical work are connected here. We’re looking for someone who can preserve design intent while working through the details that make a project buildable.

We’re also open to new ways of practicing architecture. Curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging tools is important. You don’t need to arrive as an expert, but you should be willing to test new approaches and help the team improve how the studio works.

GROWTH & LEARNING

Continued learning is central to how we work. Our team is encouraged to deepen skills, explore new interests, and push the practice forward. Code & Craft supports professional development and celebrates the ideas and pursuits that energize each person.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 8–10+ years of architectural experience, including substantial custom residential work

• Experience managing custom residential projects through design, documentation, and construction

• Strong Revit skills and experience producing coordinated construction documents

• Confidence with technical detailing, constructability, and quality review

• The ability to carry design intent through documentation and construction

• Good judgment, clear communication, and reliable follow-through

• The ability to manage work independently and collaborate across a project team

• Architectural licensure preferred, but not required

• Interest in AI and emerging tools, with a willingness to explore their practical use in architectural work

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary of $100,000–$135,000, based on experience and capability.

• Health benefits, paid time off, paid sick leave, and paid holidays.

• 401(k) with employer match.

• Job-related travel and professional development opportunities.

TO APPLY

Please send your résumé and portfolio. For each project, identify your role and highlight work you personally owned, especially project leadership, technical documentation, detailing, and construction-phase problem-solving.

Include a brief example of a tool, process, or workflow you’ve improved, or an idea you’d like to explore using AI or automation.
