Certified Peer Recovery Advocate

Responsibilities Facilitate outreach to individuals in treatment programs or considering treatment, enhancing their engagement and commitment to recovery. Provide non-clinical crisis support, particularly after hospitalization or incarceration. Educate program participants about various recovery modes and connect them to community-based recovery support. Accompany clients to medical appointments and assist with applying for benefits. Raise awareness of social and support services available to participants. Collaborate with treatment teams to align support with recovery and discharge plans. Qualifications Minimum CRPA provisional certification, with completion of 500 clock hours within 6 months of employment. Valid NYS Driver’s license. At least two years of personal recovery experience and active engagement in a recovery network. Knowledge of recovery support systems, including 12-step support groups. Experience facilitating recovery support groups. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
