I/C Engineering Specialist 5

Position I/C Engineering Specialist 5 (Onsite – Overland Park, KS or Denver, CO or Arlington, VA) Major Responsibilities Lead communication designs and coordinate with other disciplines Create conceptual and detailed systems designs, including design drawings, specifications and design analysis deliverables Coordinate with a BIM/CAD team for drawing production Perform quality control duties and independent technical reviews Manage assigned budgets, scopes and schedules Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff members Other potential duties: fieldwork and write assessment reports; assist with creation of design guides and templates; provide support to business development or pursuit activities Skills and Abilities Required The client Special Projects Corp. provides full‑range services to U.S. Government agencies. Preferred skills include knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices for ICT, low voltage and telecommunications systems; structured cabling safety and constructability; ISP cabling infrastructure; OSP design of copper and fiber optics; audio‑visual system design; and 4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systems. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices related to ICT, low voltage and telecommunications systems Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems from safety and constructability perspective Strong knowledge of ISP cabling infrastructure including telecommunications spaces, pathways, copper, and optical fiber cabling and connectivity Experience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fiber optic communication systems Experience in audio‑visual (AV) system design 4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systems Qualifications and Experience Minimum: pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required) Certified Technology Specialist‑Design (CTS‑D) certification (preferred) Consideration for candidates with direct Federal experience and plans to sit for RCDD in next few months #J-18808-Ljbffr ARTSMARTUK LTD.
