This position is responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and providing input on the design of a variety of tools, dies, specialized parts, and devices used in machinery and production equipment.The ideal candidate will have strong machining experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Pay$25–$28 per hourJob SummaryThe Tool & Die Maker will work with precise measurements and complex technical plans while setting up and operating a variety of equipment, including:Surface grindersTool and cutter grindersManual and CNC milling machinesManual and CNC lathesSawsWelding equipmentOther equipment necessary to complete daily tasksThis position will work closely with other Tool & Die Makers, Manufacturing Engineers, and production staff to manufacture and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and other equipment.Primary ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret technical prints to understand required parts and specificationsManufacture and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and production equipment using machine tools and welding equipmentProgram and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes as requiredSet up and operate manual mills and lathesWork with close tolerances related to drilling, boring, reaming, milling, and turningMeasure finished parts using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gaugesAssemble, disassemble, and test products to ensure functionality and qualityInspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standardsPerform regular maintenance on machine tools to ensure optimal performanceWork closely with engineers and production staff to ensure tools and dies meet manufacturing requirementsFollow all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements when operating machineryHelp maintain 6S standards in the immediate work area and other areas as neededFollow ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and applicable safety certification requirementsMaintain a 40-hour workweek and work overtime as neededMaintain regular attendance according to the assigned scheduleFollow directions and perform other job-related duties as assignedWork independently while supporting other Tool & Die Makers and Manufacturing Engineers as neededQualifications & SkillsMinimum of 4 years of Tool & Die Maker experienceTechnical/vocational certification in Tool & Die, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related field is preferredCAM software experience preferredStrong knowledge of standard shop mathematicsKnowledge of metal-cutting feeds and speedsUnderstanding of threading terminologyAbility to calculate angles for setting sine barsUnderstanding of grinding principles and proceduresAbility to read and interpret technical prints, sketches, design models, and verbal descriptionsStrong manual dexterity and ability to use hand toolsKnowledge of metal and other material propertiesExperience with precision measurement toolsEDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) experience preferredAbility to work independently and stay self-motivatedWork EnvironmentTypical office/factory environmentPossible exposure to heat in production areasExposure to machine noise; hearing protection requiredExposure to electrical and mechanical moving partsExposure to sparks, chips, and dust; eye protection requiredExposure to heavy equipment and components; safety-toed shoes requiredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to safely lift 50 lbs.Must be able to perform repetitive movements including walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and pullingMust be able to stand for extended periodsMust have the ability to maintain clear vision and focus during fast-paced, repetitive operationsApply Today!If you have the experience and skills to succeed as a Tool & Die Maker, we want to hear from you!
