Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Opportunity

A well-established general practice is in search of a registered dental hygienist whose main focus is patient care. The ideal hygienist will be seasoned and able to understand the daily routine and schedule of an office and do what it takes to ensure that the patients are well taken care of on time.

Job responsibilities include promoting dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. The hygienist will prepare treatment rooms, provide information to patients and employees, maintain instrumentation, and complete dental prophylaxis.

The hygienist will also detect disease, arrest dental decay, maintain patient appearance, help manage dental and medical emergencies, educate patients, document dental hygiene services, maintain a safe and clean working environment, and conserve dental resources.

Qualifications and skills include the use of dental technology, dental health maintenance, infection control, health promotion and maintenance, bedside manner, creating a safe, effective environment, listening, teamwork, administering medication, thoroughness, self-development.

The practice is people-oriented, team-oriented, and detail-oriented. Requirements include a bachelor's degree preferred, state-registered dental hygienist, and 1+ years in a dental office.
