Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Rehabilitation RN functions within a specialized Unit focused on cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, and neurological conditions. The role involves coordinating comprehensive patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate recovery and improve functional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and coordinate patient care for individuals with complex neurological and rehabilitative needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and nursing staff to develop and execute individualized care plans.
• Provide direct patient care during 12-hour night shifts, ensuring safety and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, progress, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain compliance with all certification, licensing, and institutional policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses accepted for application.
• Possess at least 2 years of RN experience, with 1 year in a specialized rehabilitation setting.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
• Be BLS certified through the American Heart Association; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Have prior experience with cerebrovascular, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, or related neurological diagnoses.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
