Key Responsibilities of the Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

• Perform thorough assessments across varying patient demographics, from pediatric to geriatric
• Demonstrate competent clinical skills and provide direct support for patient care delivery
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in the patient's chart, including patient education
• Adhere to professional practice responsibilities and policies
• Promote patient and family-centered care, maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and ensure patient safety with appropriate identification
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia
• Assume responsibility for pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education
• Support and evaluate the completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT)

Requirements of the Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

• 1 year experience in a relevant setting
• BLS certification - Required
• RN License - Required
• CNOR certification - Preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
