Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment. This contract position is available for the 26/27 school year (with the possibility to continue on) in Piedmont, providing you an opportunity to work full-time and play a key role in shaping learning for elementary students. You'll work with a caseload of students with ESN (Moderate/Severe) needs, utilizing your expertise to foster independence and growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California credential in moderate/severe (M/S)/ ESN special education (required)
- Experience working with a diverse caseload of students in special education settings
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Dedication to implementing specialized instruction and adapting educational plans
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs
- Create an engaging, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and learning
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adapting lessons as necessary
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to coordinate services and resources
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that respects and celebrates differences
This contract offers a competitive compensation package, with hourly rates ranging from $45 to $55, commensurate with experience and credentials.
