Position / Specialty: RN MS/Oncology- SURGICAL ONCOLOGY UNIT (10000975)

Shifts: DAYS w/ occasional float to nights as needed (will only be a few night shifts per contract)

Days of the week: various days of the week

Years of experience REQ: 2 year acute care

First-timers accepted: yes; must have teaching hospital experience if first travel assignment

Weekend REQ: yes per unit needs

Certs REQ: AHA BLS, CO or Compact RN license

Is on-call REQ? No

Will this traveler need to float within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units? Yes, floating as required and may float to sister facilities based on facility needs

Total Staffed Beds: 36

Charting: Epic

Ratios: 1:6 Nurse-to-patient ratios may flex up based on staffing and unit needs. While additional support is provided, candidates must be comfortable with and have prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios

Scrub Color: Navy

Special Requirements: teaching hospital experience required, UCH surgical oncology unit, Majority of the procedures and diagnoses seen are related to the abdomen or pelvic area (Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, Stomach, unit primarily cares for patients with a known cancer diagnosis needing surgical interventions to manage their disease process or complications. Nursing staff provides care to patients to help achieve specific post-op milestones for discharge. No Chemotherapy or Biotherapy is administered on this unit. Staff does not need to be chemo certified to apply. LOCAL BILL RATE IS $85 IF CANDIDATE LIVES LESS THAN 75 MILES FROM FACILITY
