Job Summary

This is not a cashier position, and requires a pro-active individual, ready to anticipate the needs of this location. The Manager In Training will learn operational, sales, and staff management, through hands-on training to meet performance, safety, and customer service goals. Key duties include assisting with sales, inventory, optimization of the forge floor, and maintaining a clean environment, while directly overseeing daily operations in the manager's absence. Our experience driven forge caters to people looking to live some of the magic of being a Forged in Fire Champion as well as guests interested in forging handcrafted souvenirs that will last a lifetime. Applicants should be outgoing, effective speakers and competent writers. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of the basics of driving business and converting potential clients to guests.

Responsibilities

• Operational Training: Learn to manage, train, and supervise personnel, while driving sales goals and controlling expenses.
• Customer & Safety Focus: Ensure high standards for customer service, compliance with federal/state regulations, and a safe, clean environment.
• Administrative Duties: Oversee inventory, cash assets, and financial reporting in coordination with management.
• Leadership Development: Develop skills to manage daily operations, implement marketing plans, and foster a positive, productive team environment.
• Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
• Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
• Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
• Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
• Actively seek out customers in store
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
• Handle returns of merchandise
• Build productive trust relationships with customers
• Comply with inventory control procedures
• Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)

Skills

• Experience: Previous retail, management, or customer service experience required to ensure a foundational understanding of business operations.
• Skills: Strong communication, decision-making, and collaboration skills are essential for leading teams and achieving performance goals.
• Goal-Oriented: A demonstrated readiness to assume a full Store Manager position.
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
• Familiarity with inventory procedures
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
• Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
• Availability to work flexible shifts
• High school degree; BS degree in Marketing or related field a plus
