Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population post-surgery and from the cath lab. This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient recovery and safety during 7AM to 7PM shifts.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and observe patient responses to treatment.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
  
  
• 
  Utilize telemetry and post-op monitoring equipment to track patient status and alert team to any Anomalies.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about post-operative care, medications, and recovery expectations.
  
  
• 
  Document patient progress accurately in the EMR system, including Meditech / CPN updates.
  
  
• 
  Follow unit policies, safety protocols, and infection control procedures diligently.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license and have at least 1 year of hospital PCU experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification.
  
  
• 
  Have cardiac care experience and familiarity with Meditech preferred.
  
  
• 
  Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills with a friendly, outgoing personality.
  
  
• 
  Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.
