Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2120 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have basic arrhythmia knowledge and be able to recognize fatal rhythms.

Special Requests: Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Travel teams must be submitted together. Block scheduling may be allowed if included in the contract; nights is usually blocked.

Unit Details: Remote telemetry monitoring; permanent staff read strips. Heparin and Protonix IV drips only; no titrating or cardiac drips. Uses BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, B-Braun, and Omnicell. No IV team. PCT support on unit. Common diagnoses/types of patients include totals, spines, occ burr holes, seizures, cranies, brain stim, traction on nights for hips, Bucks traction, and MedSurg overflow.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun for nights). Holidays as needed based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Float to any MedSurg unit; would not float to ED or Behavioral Health.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
