Speech Language Pathologist

Job Title Speech Language Pathologist - Preschool (CFY candidates may also be hired) Location Geneva site Compensation and Benefits Salary range $55,000 – $66,000 per year; CFY salary starting at $50,000 per year. Signing bonus $6,000 earned over 2 years: 25% ($1,500) after 6 months, 25% ($1,500) after 1 year, 50% ($3,000) after 2 years. Employment Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday during program hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand. Summary/Objective Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. New York State license in Speech Pathology. CFY candidate may also be considered. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology awarded by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association is preferred. Current knowledge of the principles and methods for prevention, assessment, and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders, including consideration of anatomical/physiological, psychological, developmental, linguistic, and cultural correlates. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Must have demonstrated excellent listening skills. Valid NYS drivers license. Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy. Upholds NYS Education Law/Practice Act as relating to the practice of speech therapy. Performs appropriate evaluations to determine the need for speech therapy services. Ensures valid prescriptions are written for all individuals on caseload. Carries out treatment plans developed after evaluation, in clinic setting for the Article 16 and Article 28 outpatient clinics as well as the Preschool or School Programs, as necessary. Available to consult with other professionals such as teachers, habilitation staff, as well as other members of the interdisciplinary team as appropriate, to facilitate delivery of coordinated quality services to individuals. Works with legal guardians, house staff or parents as integral members of the interdisciplinary team in the clinic, day house or school setting, as needed. Communicates with physicians, orthopedists and other medical personnel to facilitate evaluation and treatment of individuals. Completes all paperwork in accordance with agency, program and department policies/guidelines. Ensures knowledge of paperwork, Electronic Health Record and applications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
