Job Description
Reliant Solutions Inc., a behavioral health agency serving the Petersburg, Virginia community, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Medical Records Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in behavioral health settings and a strong understanding of medical records management, confidentiality standards, and documentation compliance.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate client records and supporting quality behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize behavioral health medical records in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- File, scan, upload, and manage electronic and physical records
- Coordinate with clinical staff regarding missing or incomplete documentation
- Process records requests and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance reviews
- Ensure timely record updates and secure storage procedures
- Support administrative and clinical operations as needed
Qualifications
- Required: Previous experience in behavioral health or mental health services
- Experience with medical records management or health information systems preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare administration training is a plus
