Heavy Equipment Mechanic

*Job Overview*
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy machinery, including skid steers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, on and off-road trucks. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

*Responsibilities*

* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment .
* Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
* Perform diesel engine repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
* Repair hydraulic systems, ensuring all components function correctly.
* Utilize welding and soldering techniques for structural repairs as needed.
* Provide excellent communication with management regarding equipment status and repair needs.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
* Collaborate with team members to improve repair processes and enhance overall efficiency.

*Skills*

* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in heavy equipment repair.
* Experience in diesel engine repair is essential.
* Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their maintenance.
* Welding and soldering skills are a plus but not required.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
