Position Summary Texas Materials is seeking a safety-focused and dependable CDL Driver to transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to and from company facilities, jobsites, and customer locations. The CDL Driver plays a critical role in supporting our operations by ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining equipment, and upholding the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, water trucks, or other assigned equipment. Transport aggregates, asphalt, construction materials, and related products to jobsites and customer locations. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition. Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, company, and customer safety regulations and policies. Complete driver logs, inspection reports, delivery tickets, and other required documentation accurately and timely. Secure loads and verify cargo is properly loaded and transported according to regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and jobsite personnel regarding schedules, deliveries, and operational needs. Report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, incidents, or safety concerns immediately. Assist with loading, unloading, and other operational tasks as needed. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of vehicles and equipment. Provide excellent customer service while representing Texas Materials in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), depending on equipment assignment. Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company and insurance requirements. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices. Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Preferred Previous experience in construction, asphalt, aggregate, or heavy materials transportation. Endorsements as required by business needs. Experience operating dump trucks, lowboys, tankers, or other specialized construction equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles. Ability to regularly climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach. Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times throughout the day. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise. Work Environment Construction sites, aggregate facilities, asphalt plants, and public roadways. Exposure to moving machinery, traffic, dust, and varying weather conditions. Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to company safety standards and policies.
