LaVille Elementary School is seeking a passionate, student-centered Elementary Art Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator who fosters creativity, builds positive relationships with students, and creates an engaging learning environment where all students can grow artistically and personally.

Position Overview

The Elementary Art Teacher will provide high-quality visual arts instruction to elementary students while promoting creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. The ideal candidate will create meaningful learning experiences that align with Indiana Academic Standards and support the overall mission and culture of our school community.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging art instruction for elementary students
• Develop lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
• Integrate a variety of artistic media, techniques, and cultural perspectives into instruction
• Assess student growth and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school administration
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Organize and display student artwork throughout the school and community
• Maintain classroom materials, supplies, and equipment
• Support school programs, activities, and events as needed

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana teaching license is preferred
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Knowledge of elementary instructional practices and child development
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching elementary-aged students
• Experience integrating technology into art instruction
• Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative school culture
