Senior Oracle OCI Database Administrator / Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Onsite Richmond VA (5 Days/Week)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle OCI Database Administrator with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Database Administration, WebLogic, and Oracle APEX . This role is responsible for managing mission-critical Oracle environments, supporting database upgrades, performance tuning, disaster recovery, automation, and production support.

This is a 100% onsite position . Candidates must be available to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours and weekend support for production maintenance, patching, upgrades, and critical incidents.

• Design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
• Administer Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Database 26ai environments.
• Perform Oracle Database upgrades, migrations, and conversions, including upgrades from 19c to 26ai .
• Configure and support Oracle Application Express (APEX) and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
• Install, configure, patch, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments.
• Administer Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB), including PDB cloning.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle databases for performance and availability.
• Manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control and Fleet Maintenance.
• Automate operational tasks using Ansible, shell scripting, and GitLab.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to support enterprise deployments.
• Document operational procedures and technical standards.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call production support and scheduled maintenance activities.

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience in enterprise production environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) .
• Strong experience administering:
  • Oracle Database 19c and newer
  • Oracle Database 26ai
  • Oracle APEX 18+
  • Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) 22+
  • Oracle WebLogic Server 14c
• Experience upgrading Oracle Database from 19c to 26ai .
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting experience.
• Experience with:
  • RMAN backup and recovery
  • Oracle Data Guard
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24ai
  • Fleet Maintenance and PSU patching
  • PDB cloning
  • DBaaS on OCI
• Experience with GitLab and Ansible automation.
• Strong database performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

• Oracle Grid Control / OEM 13c experience.
• Oracle Fusion Middleware administration.
• Oracle WebLogic 12c administration.
• Oracle Database migration from Solaris to Linux.
• Oracle Cloud administration in OCI, AWS, or Azure.
• Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and IIS administration.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Python or JavaScript scripting.
• CI/CD experience using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Oracle certifications (OCP, OCE, OCI Professional).
• Experience with microservices and API integrations.
