Civil Project Engineer (Commercial & Residential Land Development) We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our growing Civil Engineering team. This position is ideal for an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in commercial site development and residential subdivision design who enjoys working on projects from concept through construction. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, design, client coordination, and permitting while collaborating with architects, landscape architects, and other design professionals. Responsibilities Lead the design and development of commercial and residential land development projects. Prepare and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, utility, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, landscape, and lighting plans. Develop construction documents, engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate project design with architects, surveyors, landscape architects, and other consultants. Manage permitting and approvals with local, county, and state agencies. Perform engineering calculations related to grading, stormwater, utilities, and site infrastructure. Review plans for quality control and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and CAD designers. Attend client meetings, agency reviews, and occasional site visits during construction. Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Experience in commercial site planning and residential subdivision design. Strong knowledge of site grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and site development principles. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D preferred. Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating permitting efforts. Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with municipal, mixed-use, retail, office, healthcare, or multifamily developments. Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software. Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
