The role emphasizes effective teaching, proactive communication, progress monitoring, MTSS collaboration, college and career readiness, and technical guidance. Responsibilities Deliver engaging, TEKS‑aligned instruction in assigned subjects using Canvas, Skyward, Box, etc. Support AP or dual credit standards when applicable. Maintain a positive virtual classroom to foster participation and growth. Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work. Maintain accurate records of performance and progress. Develop and deliver live and asynchronous instruction. Create a culture that promotes participation and collaboration. Provide Canvas navigation support and technical assistance. Communicate regularly with students and guardians about progress, expectations, and support. Identify students needing support via MTSS protocols. Collaborate with MTSS teams to develop interventions. Document communication and support efforts. Ensure inclusive instructional strategies and individualized accommodations. Participate in ARD and 504 meetings. Develop or facilitate study sessions, exam support, and interventions. Provide tutoring services asynchronously/synchronously. Support readiness for standardized assessments (STAAR, AP). Proctor assessments in compliance with policies. Assist students with exam procedures and preparation tools. Maintain Texas certification and adhere to the Texas Educator Code of Ethics. Participate in professional development and district initiatives. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and occasional webinars. Collaborate with Learning Specialists on practice alignment. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of secondary teaching experience. Texas Teacher Certification in Social Studies 7‑12. Experience designing instruction and assessments for high school Social Studies. In‑depth knowledge of TEKS, STAAR, and social studies best practices. Experience with online instruction and technology skills for design and delivery. Proven ability to support diverse student needs and track/report data. Advanced organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree, more than two years of teaching experience, and additional subject credentials. Experience in leadership roles, professional development facilitation, and curriculum design. Proficiency in Canvas LMS, blended learning, and conference presentation. Salary Range $67,200 + depending on qualifications. Working Conditions Hybrid role: two onsite days per week on campus. Work performed using virtual tools and internet access. Might require occasional evening meetings. Travel for compliance meetings, professional development, or staff training.
