Accounting Clerk

Accounting ClerkLegends Global, the leader in events and venue management for public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk in Rockford, Illinois. This role offers hands-on exposure to live event accounting and opportunities to grow into more advanced accounting responsibilities. The Accounting Clerk reports to the HR & Accounting Manager and is responsible for the bank activities, accounts payable, and a portion of event settlements. Additional responsibilities include performing monthly journal entries to facilitate the month-end close process, maintenance of accounting files, preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, general ledger account analysis, and reconciliations, etc., for the BMO Center, Coronado Theatre, and Davis Park.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Reconcile bank statements, outstanding checks, cash receipts, and disbursementsReconcile accounts payable control accounts to aging reportsAssist with event settlements while working closely with Booking, Box Office, and Event ServicesSupport the tracking of fixed asset activity in detail and input into the accounting module for automatic depreciation generationAssist in the monthly close process, including bank reconciliations, analysis, and preparation of accrualsMaintain internal audit controls and participate in external auditsPerform other accounting and general office duties as requestedProcess vendor invoices, including coding, matching, and entering into the accounting systemEnsure proper approvals and compliance with internal controlsPrepare and execute weekly check runs and ACH paymentsMaintain vendor files, W-9 documentation, and payment recordsResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiriesVerify event-related invoices and reconcile against contracts and agreementsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
