Automation Engineer
Johnson & Johnson
Entry-level Automation Engineer position supporting manufacturing automation systems at Johnson & Johnson's vision care division in Puerto Rico. The role involves troubleshooting equipment, developing PLC/HMI applications, and documenting technical work while collaborating across engineering, operations, and quality teams.
Responsibilities
- Support maintenance and improvement of automated manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, sensor, communication, and equipment issues under guidance
- Develop, modify, and test basic PLC and HMI applications with oversight
- Document work performed and communicate findings to appropriate team members
- Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, testing, and startup activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
- Zero to two years relevant experience or recent graduate status
- Basic knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, industrial equipment, sensors, or troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work safely in manufacturing environment and follow procedures
- Willingness to learn from experienced team members and receive guidance
