Student Research Assistant

The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Department of Systems and Information Engineering, seeks applicants for 1-2 part-time Administrative/Research Assistants for the 2026/27 Academic Year. The position may be part time or full time and will perform administrative tasks and research assistance for a faculty member. Responsibilities Assist with administrative tasks (e.g., typing, scheduling) Conduct research (e.g., literature reviews, transcriptions) Assist with pushing wheelchair and driving to meetings Other duties as needed Qualifications Computer skills: Microsoft Suite, online portals Typing speed of at least 65 WPM Strong writing, reading, and organizational skills Enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours per term) Valid Driver's License with a good driving record; DMV driving record check required Minimum Requirements Resume and Cover Letter required. Education Current undergraduate UVA student. Compensation $13.00 per hour. Start date: ASAP—2026‑2027 Academic Year. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
