SALARY: $19.42 - $21.13 DOE

JOB SUMMARY

The forklift operator is responsible for yard maintenance, inventory, staging of loads, receiving, and shipping. This position must work in a team environment and have personal accountability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures. Pick the correct product according to the picking list to ensure accuracy. Ensuring no damaged items are sent. Input information into ERP system using scan gun. Stage and inspect loads for shipment adhering to specifications and has no defects. Load and unload flatbed trailers and containers. Perform cycle count on yard inventory. Hand stacking, wrapping, and strapping of molding. Operate Forklift and other related Powered Industrial Vehicles and tools. Implement and sustain 5S methodologies in work area. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1 year of manufacturing experience. Must have basic computer skills. Must be able and willing to cross-train across other functional areas. Excellent eye/hand coordination. Be able to pass a forklift test and maintain the required forklift license.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years' experience in a relevant field. Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to: Prolonged standing or in a stationary position. Complete repetitive movements. Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may require hearing protection. Wear all required personal protective equipment. Ability to lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds. Ability to move or traverse about the facilities. Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders. Exposure to dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
