Overview Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist RE (PT-Night) Req #: 0000225016 Category: Radiology / Imaging / Radiation Status: Part-Time Shift: Night Facility: RWJ Somerset Department: Ultrasound Pay Range: $49.43 - $61.04 per hour Location: 110 Rehill Ave, Somerville, NJ 08876 Job Summary The Ultrasound Technologist RE performs ultrasound examinations and related duties in the Ultrasound department, under the supervision of the Lead Technologist and Supervisor. This is a part-time, night shift position at RWJ Somerset with responsibilities aligned to imaging services and patient care. Responsibilities Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient. Ensure proper workflow is maintained. Maintain positive relationships between Radiologist and sonographers. Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in day-to-day operations. Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in timely manner). Initiate service calls and documentations. Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques. Age-Specific Competency: apply knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan and provide age-appropriate care. Assess data reflective of each patient’s status to identify age-specific healthcare needs. Abide by standards established by hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Assist supervisor with the review of co-workers’ sonograms to ensure policy adherence and provide feedback for education. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound School. Minimum three years of hospital-based ultrasound experience with abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, thyroid, vascular, pediatric, biopsies, and interventional procedures preferred. Excellent professional and cooperative interaction with patients, physicians, and hospital staff. Pleasant bedside manner. Age-Specific Competency and ability to provide age-appropriate care. Certifications and Licenses ARDMS Certification required Must be BLS certified Scheduling Night Shift, 20 hours/week Part Time Essential Functions Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.
