Telemetry Technician

Summary: 7:00pm - 7:30am Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation.
- Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, and record rhythms during codes.
- Perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
- Troubleshoot monitoring problems and appropriately respond to all monitor alarms.
- Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings, including proper electrode placement.
- Communicate appropriately and clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
- Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
- Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse.
- Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies.
- Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Telemetry Technician in a hospital setting.
- Active telemetry certification.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
