Cybersecurity Specialist Advanced

Location: Fort Belvoir, VA (on-site) Position: Cybersecurity Specialist IAT III Advanced Responsibilities Help shape and maintain a secure cyber environment by applying cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices across enclave systems and operations. Support the security and performance of mission-critical systems through hands‑on monitoring, troubleshooting, testing, and resolution of hardware and software IA issues. Drive cybersecurity initiatives by leveraging technical expertise and sound judgment to identify risks, recommend solutions, and accomplish enclave security objectives. Serve as a technical leader and trusted resource to junior team members by providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship in a collaborative environment. Partner directly with government and internal stakeholders—both remotely and onsite—to deliver assessments, provide strategic recommendations, and support evolving mission needs. Some travel is expected for this position. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in a STEM and/or Cyber-related field or equivalent from an accredited institution and five (5) years of Cyber technical experience. Acceptable alternative: Bachelor's degree in a STEM and/or Cyber-related field with eight (8) years of DoD cyber technical experience and knowledge demonstrated in missile defense related or other complex, large DoD Programs/Projects. Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification requirements in order to be considered. Acceptable certifications include but are not limited to: CASP+ (SecurityX), CCNP, CISA, and CISSP. An Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required. Possess, or be able to obtain, a technical certification or three (3) years’ experience with McAfee Endpoint Security, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Splunk, and/or implementing network, enclave, or system security toolsets, including reviewing technical assessment reports and prioritizing corrective actions. If not already certified, required tool certification(s) must be obtained within six (6) months of position acceptance. Preferred Qualifications Experience in technical review / management / assessment of Software, Cloud, Firewalls, Network Defense, Ports, Protocols, and Services Management, and / or DevSecOps. Prior experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is highly desired. Proven ability to work independently to solve problems quickly and completely.
