What the Utility Steward/Dishwasher will do:
- Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
- Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
- Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
- Clean dining and serving areas throughout and after the meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption
- Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
- Assist with receiving and storing food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
- Perform all duties according to food safety and sanitation best practices
- Other duties, as assigned
What the Utility Steward/Dishwasher will need:
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Previous utility/dishwasher experience required
- Ability to measure products and convert units of measure
- Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning
- Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment
- Good communication skills and a great attitude
