Material Handler (1st Shift)

Brief Description A Material Handler plays a key role in transporting materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations. This position requires timely movement of materials, reliability, organization, and support for production operations. 1st Shift Schedule: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday; overtime as required Due to the nature of our business, mandatory overtime is required during high-volume production periods and other times of increased workload. Flexibility to work extended shift and/or weekends is an essential requirement of this position. Duties/Responsibilities Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations. Transports, loads and unloads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids). Keeps all material handling equipment in working order by conducting regular maintenance and inspection. Records inventory statuses. Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information. Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Experienced in operating a Pallet Jack, Forklift, or Clamp Truck Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in fast-paced environment Ability to follow directions Excellent time management and ability to multi-task Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 years' experience in a warehouse environment Physical Requirements Prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to lift up/move to 55 pounds at a time. Must be able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
