Job Title Fire Captain, CI Job Code JC-521856 Location Monterey County Job Type Permanent, Full Time Salary $6,110.00 - $9,203.00 Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Fire Chief, the Fire Captain CI provides a full range of fire protection services to the Correctional Training Facility (CTF) and Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP). Perform fire life safety code enforcement inspections on structures equipment, processes and programs. Analyze, interpret and apply building, fire and other applicable fire/safety codes to inspections. Respond to reported emergencies, stand‑by’s and requests for public service assistance and take appropriate action in accordance with level of training and resources to protect life, environment and property. Direct incarcerated persons firefighting crews and assigned equipment at scenes of emergencies, stand‑by’s and service assists with firefighter and equipment safety as of paramount concern and responsibility. Qualifications Fire Captain, Correction Institution (required). Completion of California State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license, Fire Fighter I and II training, Driver Operator I‑A and 1 B training, Hazardous Materials First Responder Operation (FRO) training, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander training, Company Officer Qualification training, Confined Space Awareness training, Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior S‑290 training Firefighter Survival training, Low Angle Rope Rescue Operation training, S212 Wildland Fire Chain Saw training, and completion of Penal Code Section 832 training. Special Requirements The position requires a drug screening to be passed prior to being hired.
