We are currently hiring a CDL Class A and Class B Driver for our Boise team.

Class A Delivery Driver

• Compensation: $24.00 per hour
• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday (Starting at 6:00 AM)

Class B Delivery Driver

• Compensation: $23.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday through Friday (Starting at 6:00 AM)

Pay Classification: Hourly

FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt


General Statement of Duties

This position is responsible for the safe handling of product, to include the delivery, check-in, and set-up of product. Helping with returns and collections are also required. This is a fast paced, physically demanding job delivering product to stores, bars, and restaurants, that functions under direct supervision of the Delivery Supervisor and has little latitude for independent direction in duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform the physical tasks associated to the selection, loading and delivery of product in accordance with established procedures. Other primary responsibilities include assisting in other areas of product movement processes as necessary and as illustrated below:

• Safety - To safely operate a company delivery vehicle in compliance with all state and federal safety and administrative requirements, as well as following and promoting the HBC safety policy.
• I nspections - pre-& post-trip inspections of delivery vehicle plus complete truck maintenance check list daily.
• Inventory - Verify inventory counts when delivering product to customers.
• Product - Maintain back stock of product in each account, rotate stock to maintain freshness, stocking shelves at each account.
• Displays - Building and/or rebuilding displays in accounts.
• Records - Keeping accurate records of invoices and payments received by accounts.
• Customer Service - Service customer accounts in a professional manner; drivers have direct contact with customers.
• All other - Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Duties are subject to change at the discretion of HBC, to accommodate the changes and needs of the industry and our customers.
• Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Commercial Class B Driver's License or Class A Driver's License with a standard transmission endorsement, or the ability to obtain and maintain one upon hire.
• Demonstrate the ability tofollow directions and with necessary attention to detail.
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully function as a member of a team through communication while engaging in self-directed resourcefulness.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing - Successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug test with a negative result for the presence-controlled substances to be accepted for employment with the Company .
• Participate and pass random drug tests in accordance with the Company's established Drug Free Workplace programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card.
• Background - Ability to pass criminal background, driving history, and employment reference check.
• Valid Standard Driver's License and Satisfactory Driving Record-Satisfy Company requirements which include but are not limited to no more than two (2) moving traffic violations/convictions, no DUI, or license suspensions within the past three (3) years or any other driving record that may be deemed as unacceptable by the Company.

Essential Physical Abilities

• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively with others in person and by telephone.
• Sufficient visual and mental acuity, which permits the employee to comprehend written and verbal work instructions and make determination of necessary actions to take to comply with hygiene and appearance standards for the facility. Uniforms may be provided and when provided must be worn in a safe manner shirt consistent with instructions as provided.
• Sufficient visual and manual dexterity, which permits the employee to operate safely in a fast-moving environment.
• Sufficient body mobility, flexibility, and agility to repeatedly lift 28 to 60 pounds as well as lift 158 pounds up to 24" off the ground. Also, must be able to climb up and down Truck steps and ladders without difficulty, sit for long periods and/or walk an equivalent of several miles per day.
• Standing/moving up to 3 hours at a time, push/pull/slide/be able to walk up and down stairs.
• Load and operate loaded hand truck safely, pushing/pulling hand truck or six-wheeler with eights up to the equivalent of 200 pounds.
• Must be able to drive multiple hours at a time with stops up to 35 times a day with travel from warehouse, office, outdoor and retail environments
• Schedule may vary but workday can regularly exceed 10 hours. Employee is paid to complete the job regardless of the number of hours.
