Pastry Chef - Intimate Concept
Hyper-seasonal, ingredient-driven restaurant is seeking a Pastry Chef to lead morning pastry production. This role works closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and plays a key part in bringing the program’s vision to life through consistent, high-quality execution. While there will be opportunities for creative collaboration, the primary focus of this role is leading production, maintaining high standards, and leading a team.

Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

• The production and execution of dessert menu as well as specialty menu items
• Overseeing operational and administrative aspects of the pastry team, including ordering, inventory, and scheduling
• Ensuring that all pastry items are prepared to our specifications and standards in a timely manner
• Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation
• Training, coaching, and developing staff to achieve the standards of excellence on a consistent basis
• Creating a positive work environment through effective communication and care for staff

Pastry Chef Preferred Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a pastry chef in a chef-driven respected kitchen for 1 year OR 3 years as a pastry sous chef in a similar environment
• Fine dining experience in chef-driven restaurants with a priority to Michelin, James Beard, or World's Top 50 Best backgrounds
• Previous experience with plated desserts is required
• Bread experience is a plus but not required
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage the pastry section and staff in a kitchen
• Flexible schedule for early morning production
• Dedication to excellent food quality and ensuring compliance with all health and safety, and safe food handling practices

Compensation Package Includes:

• Base salary in the $90-$110k range
• Medical allowance
