Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
• Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Explain procedures to patients to foster a trustful environment and ensure patient comfort during specimen collection.
• Maintain precise and complete documentation for all collected specimens and related activities.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.
• Perform daily tasks independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership qualities and process excellence.
• Assist in maintaining a professional and organized clinical setting that promotes a positive experience for patients and staff alike.

Required Skills

• Strong phlebotomy skills with experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills to create a welcoming environment for patients.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in specimen collection, labeling, and record-keeping.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks related to specimen and patient documentation.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service setting is a plus.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, based on staffing needs.
