Job DescriptionUW Medical Center-Northwest-Food and Nutrition Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Par-time Food Service Worker .WORK SCHEDULEVariable daysEvening shifts (4-hr shifts)DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe Nutrition and Food Services department supports UWMC's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.Our vision is to create a supportive and empowering workplace for all, provide unparalleled experiences for our customers and patients, and improve the quality of life and health of the public.The Food Service Worker serves food and beverages; cashiers/records sales; cleans and sanitizes; washes dishes and cleans equipment; empties garbage and recycling containers; maintains cleanliness, sanitation and appearance of work areas; and provides prompt, friendly and efficient service to all guests.RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists guests with electronic payments.Serves food and beverages to guests and patients. Brews coffee and ensures that other beverages are prepared and stocked. Maintains and documents temperatures of food items and equipment (such as refrigerators, freezers, and dish machine)Temperatures, documents and files data to be stored for hot and cold foods, as well as equipment such as, but not limited to, refrigerators, freezers, walk ins, and dishwashersUses F.I.F.O. (First In- First Out) so products are at their best. This includes dating, labeling, proper storage, and daily handling of productsTakes inventory and maintains stock at proper levels. Stocks with clean dishes; puts away clean waresOperates dish machine; collects soiled dishes and scrapes; washes and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensilsCleans and sanitizes food service equipment. Ensures that work areas, public dining areas, serving stations, bus stations, and all other assigned stations are neat, clean and sanitary.
